Based on my own experience, from what my colleagues are dealing with in their own practice and also from what I have learned through the years of studying different futsal materials - championship victories, success in tournaments and also overall progress of a futsal team is mostly based on the ability to stay consistent.

Skill, experience, tactics and preparation are certainly very important too. Although consistency is a true mark of a high level team. In this ebook I am going to talk about one of the aspects of achieving consistency. That is - minimizing the amount of unnecessary mistakes.

Just imagine for a moment: a team, which during the whole game never lost any fight for the ball, never lost any of covered players, always defende as a unit, never committed any fouls, never lost any balls and all the passes were always precise, well-timed and always reached the target.

This situation is unlikely to happen, ofcourse. Although you wouldn't deny that such a team would surely guarantee its victory. This is the situation we should strive to as coaches and players. Coaches must prepare their teams to be consistent and avoid unnecessary mistakes.

Sometimes, mistakes that happen are the result of outside factors: such as an opponent, for example. Because, we always play as well as our opponent allows us. At the same time we have to avoid situations, where we ourselves are the main reason for the mistakes made and points lost.

This e-book will speak about unnecessary mistakes during the possession of the ball and what should be done to avoid these mistakes.

Before we continue with the topic, there is another thing I would like to stress here. First of all, futsal is a dynamic, very tense and fast game. It’s not possible to avoid all mistakes.

Second, avoiding mistakes is not what we must concentrate on and make it objective number one. In this case players will lose creativity and will be too afraid to commit mistakes. This will cause much more damage than any actual mistake.

My message to you is this: play creatively, but always try to find a balance between your creativity and risks you take during a game. Some risks are worth it, some - not.
